With our week 2 assignment to be creating a Wiki, I invite you to come visit my wiki at http://tenorsaxmarshfield.wetpaint.com/ feel free to contribute if you have something to add to the mix.
I am not entire sure which format (blog or wiki) is better for this particular topic but lets get it started. This blog is a conversation format where the Wiki is based upon individual threads or topics that selected (or registered in my case) users can add to the knowledge base.
Google reader up and running March 14, 2008

Finally got that Google Reader account up and running. I added the following RSS feeds: Krafty Librarian, Davit Rothman, Shifted Librarian, NEJM, JAMA, BMJ, and the Christian Science Monitor.
It was actually quite easy to select content to add to the Google reader account. Now I just have to remember to login and check on new additions!
Using RSS feeds in the library March 12, 2008

One obvious use for RSS feeds is to replace the traditional SDI or Table of Contents. Instead of library staff making dozens of photocopies of the latest TOC from recent NEJM or JAMA issues, we can now set up RSS feeds for these and many other journals. We can display the RSS feeds onto our library homepage. Users can view whenever they visit that homepage.
Or our users can have these RSS feeds dump into their email. That way they do not have to make a virtual trip to the library homepage for the latest table of contents.
